Code Sequences
This installation shows samples of the two little known codes sequences that are important to us. They are very long sequences where the sequential orders can carry very specific meanings. One sequence is a human invention. It is the binary digital sequence consisting only of two digits 0 & 1. Ever since its adoption for digital computing, it has formed the foundation block of all digital information crucial to our modern society. The other sequence is the biological DNA sequence consisting only of the four nucleic-acid bases abbreviated as C, G, A & T. These DNA sequences has, ever since biological life began millions of years ago, form the foundation block of all living matters on earth. .... The artwork pictured was installed in front of the Nanyang Techological University main library entrance. It has since been taken down and re-installed at the Singapore Institure of Management headquarter building.
